HockeyTime.netCon la doppietta e l’assist realizzati sabato sera contro l’Asiago il centro canadese Matt Gorman è diventato il miglior realizzatore delle Aquile con un totale di 6 reti e 5 assist, superando Frank DeFrenza fermo a 6 reti e 4 assist.
HockeyTime: Ciao Matt, prima di tutto ci puoi dire una tua impressione sulla partita?
Matt Gorman: E’ stata sicuramente una buona vittoria di squadra e tutte le tre linee hanno contribuito a questo risultato. Tutti i giocatori si sono impegnati e sia la difesa che l’attacco ha funzionato alla grande. Siamo anche riusciti a segnare cinque volte e quindi non potevamo chiedere niente di meglio.
HT: In questa partita contro l’Asiago hai segnato due volte, sei contento della tua performance o ti aspetti ancora di più nelle prossime gare?
MG: Sono sempre contento quando riesco a segnare ma metto sempre al primo posto le esigenze della squadra. Anche se si parte con la voglia di segnare o fare degli assist così come di giocare una buona partita dal punto di vista difensivo, prima di tutto bisogna impegnarsi ad aiutare la squadra. Se poi arrivano anche i goal allora è perfetto.
HT: Oltre ai goal, eri presente in uno dei due goal realizzati da Busa, che cosa ne pensi di questo ragazzo?
MG: Busa è un giocatore che si impegna molto. Lui così come tutti i giovani delle Aquile ce la mettono tutta per aiutare la squadra il più possibile, seguono sempre le indicazioni del coach e questo è un grande aiuto anche per i veterani del gruppo perché permette di poter giocare nel migliore dei modi la partita.
HT: In questa giornata il Cortina ha perso contro il Bolzano mentre il Milano ha vinto, che cosa ne pensi della situazione che si è creata in classifica?
MG: Beh, la stagione è lunga e quindi è normale per una squadra di vincere le partite ma anche di perderne alcune. La cosa che però a me interessa maggiormente è che la mia squadra cerchi di comportarsi sempre bene in modo da poter rimanere nei posti più alti della classifica perché questa è la meta che noi ci siamo prefissati di raggiungere.
HT: La prossima gara sarà contro il Milano…
MG: Sicuramente vogliamo fare del nostro meglio pur essendo consapevoli che loro sono una squadra molto forte. Tuttavia stasera abbiamo dimostrato che se giochiamo uniti possiamo anche noi essere temibili e nell’hockey tutto può succedere.
MG: Credi che giocare in casa possa esservi di aiuto?
HT: Sicuramente, soprattutto perché i nostri tifosi sono sempre pronti a supportarci e questo per noi è molto importante.

HockeyTime: Can you tell us your impression on the game?
MG: Well, it was a good team win and all three lines contributed to the win. We all worked hard and both our offence and defence worked out great. We came out with five goals and we couldn’t ask for anything better than that.
HT: You got to score twice against team Asiago, are you happy of your performance? Do you expect more from yourself in the next games?
MG: I am always happy when I get to score but first come the team’s needs. Though everytime you play you would like to score a goal or have one or more assists as well as playing a good defensive game, you have to help the team first and then if you can also score a goal that is great.
HT: You also assisted on one of Busa’s two goals, what do you think of him?
MG: He is a really hard worker. Him as well as all of our young guys always want to help out the team as much as they can, they follow the coach’s tips and that really helps also the veterans in order to play a good game.
HT: Cortina lost against Bolzano while team Milano won, what do you think of the situation that this has created in the standings?
MG: Well, it’s a long season and so it’s normal for the teams to win a couple of games as well as lose some others. What I care about the most is for my team to try and be as close to the top spots of the standings as we can because that is the goal that we are trying to reach.
HT: You will meet team Milano on Tuesday, what are your expectations?
MG: Of course we want to do our best. Milano is a very strong team but tonight we showed that if we play together as a team we can be strong too so we have to take advantage of this factor.
HT: Do you think you might get a littlebit of help by the fans since you will be facing them in your home ice?
MG: Of course, our fans are great, they always support us and that is for sure a big help for us.
