HockeyTime: Contro l’Asiago le Aquile si sono dimostrate più aggressive rispetto alla precedente gara contro il Bolzano, ma da un po’ di tempo a questa parte il vostro power play non sta funzionando come dovrebbe…
Viateslav Jankovych: Bè, credo che questa sia soltanto una fase che stiamo attraversando, in allenamento ci esercitiamo sempre nel migliorare il power play perciò sono piuttosto certo che in questo momento il fatto che non segnamo molto nei power play non sia un problema e probabilmente è solo una questione di tempo ed i goal inizieranno ad arrivare. Ho anche notato che questa sera eravamo piuttosto nervosi perché sapevamo che non dovevamo sbagliare l’approccio a questa partita e dovevamo vincerla e per questo abbiamo ricevuto un sacco di penalità che hanno in qualche modo rallentato le nostre manovre offensive. Tuttavia sono contento che alla fine siamo riusciti a portare a casa i due punti.
HT: Congratulazioni anche per la tua performance, hai anche segnato due goal.
VJ: Grazie, sì sono molto contento del modo in cui abbiamo giocato stasera, durante le precedenti partite ho sempre avuto molte chance per segnare ma non sono mai riuscito a concretizzarle perciò avere segnato due goal questa sera è molto importante per il mio morale e spero di continuare così.
HT: Come ti trovi con i tuoi compagni di linea?
VJ: Mi trovo bene, adesso una buona parte di stagione è trascorsa ed abbiamo avuto la possibilità di conoscerci a vicenda ed ora ci troviamo molto bene sul ghiaccio perché conosciamo meglio le rispettive caratteristiche infatti proprio per questo stiamo anche giocando meglio rispetto all’inizio della stagione.
HT: Tu hai giocato nella seconda divisione della Repubblica Ceca, secondo quella lega è allo stesso livello della nostra serie A1?
VJ: Sì, penso che siano tutte e due sullo stesso livello, e penso anche che i grandi team qui in Italia come Milano, Bolzano e Cortina potrebbero benissimo trovarsi ai vertici della classifica anche della seconda divisione ceca.
HT: Giocherete contro Milano Sabato, che cosa ti aspetti da questa partita? Come ti preparerai?
VJ: Credo che sarà una bella partita, mi piace quando giochiamo contro delle grandi squadre perché mi concentro molto meglio e poi è molto avvincente giocare contro di loro. Dovremo dare il massimo contro i Vipers e dovremo evitare di prendere tante penalità come è successo nel match contro l’Asiago.

Interview to Aquile’s winger Viateslav Jankovych who shined against Asiago scoring two goals during the second period and was finally able to get over a few not so positive performances.
HockeyTime: Against Asiago, the Aquile were definitely more aggressive than the previous game against Bolzano but still the power play is not working as it used to…
Viateslav Jankovych: Well I think it’s just a phase that we are going through, we practice our power play all the time so I am pretty sure that this should not be considered a problem and hopefully it’s just a matter of time and goals will start to come. Also I noticed that tonight we were a little nervous because we knew we had to win the game so we got lots of penalties so that slowed down our offensive play but overall I am happy we were able to win the two points.
HT: Congratulations for your performance, you also got to score twice.
VJ: Thanks, yes I am very happy of the way I played tonight, during the previous games I always had many chances to score but I could never get the job done so scoring twice is really important for me and I hope to continue this way.
HT: How does it feel to play with your linemates now?
VJ: It feels good, a good part of the season has already gone and we had the chance to know each other and now it is definitely easier to play together and as a matter of fact we are playing better.
HT: You used to play in the Czech Republic’s second division, do you think that it could be compared to our Italian Serie A1?
VJ: Yes I think they are pretty much at about the same level and I also think that the Italian big teams such as Milano, Bolzano and Cortina would be on the top of the standings also in that league because they are pretty strong.
HT: You will be playing against Milano on Saturday, what are your expectations? In which way will you get ready for the game?
VJ: I think it’s going to be a good game, I like it when we play big teams because I can concentrate better and it gets really exciting to play against them. We will have to play the best we can and avoid getting too many penalties as we did in the match against Asiago.
