In un incontro intra-division Minnesota batte Colorado grazie ad un “insolito” gol in inferiorità numerica di Marian Gaborik, mentre agli Avalanche non basta l’ottima partita di Alex Tanguay – tre assist. A Edmonton i Predators vanno in vantaggio per due volte nel primo periodo, ma Chris Pronger prima pareggia la contesa e poi, al supplementare, regala il punto di bonus ai suoi Oilers. I Mighty Ducks, a sole quattro lunghezze dall’ottavo posto all’ovest – ultimo utile per la postseason – non riescono ad avere la meglio di Columbus, anche a causa di un rigore (nel terzo tempo) fallito dal capitano Scott Niedermayer. E’ così che proprio agli shootout Rick Nash punisce le papere. Vancouver fallisce l’aggancio a Calgary alla testa della Northwest Div. Complice l’ottima prova di St.Louis, che si porta avanti di due gol nel primo periodo e chiude la pratica nel secondo, amministrando poi fino al termine. Goleada della serata per Dallas, che in uno United Center pieno solo per metà, rifila sette gol ai Blackhawks senza Khabibulin. Doppietta per Jason Arnott, gol partita di Martin Skoula.
