Hockeytime: Dove vivi attualmente e qual è il tuo lavoro quotidiano?
Rob Cowie: Vivo a Scottsdale in Arizona, faccio l’agente immobiliare e sono anche un NHL scout per la squadra dei NY Islanders. In particolare osservo le partite a Phoenix, Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Jose e Dallas.
HT: Hai trascorso due stagioni con i Milano Vipers (2002/03 e 2003/04 ndr) ed hai vinto due campionati con loro. Ci sono dei momenti particolari che ti ricordi con molto piacere, sia dentro che fuori dal rink?
RC: Sono stato contento di aver potuto terminare la mia carriera con il mio amico Jason Muzzatti con cui tra l’altro ho iniziato a giocare durante le scuole superiori quando avevamo 17 anni.
HT: Hai qualche aneddoto simpatico legato alla tua esperienza italiana che puoi raccontarci?
RC: La nascita di mia figlia alla clinica Buzzi a Milano il 29 settembre alle 11:59 p.m.
Io e mia moglie stavamo guardando una partita di football della NFL ed eravamo talmente presi che lei voleva aspettare fino all’intervallo di metà partita…ma la nostra bambina stava quasi per nascere nel nostro appartamento di Via Lorenteggio!
HT: Segui ancora il campionato italiano?
RC: Sì sempre attraverso internet.
HT: Strazzabosco è stato mandato nella AHL, credi che potrà disputare una buona stagione?
RC: Penso che per lui sarà dura all’inizio, ma se si riuscirà ad adattare ad uno stile di gioco più duro e ad un rink più piccolo andrà tutto bene.
HT: Qual è la cosa che ricordi con più piacere relativamente alla tua carriera?
RC: Avere avuto la possibilità di girare il mondo, vedere culture e lingue diverse e conoscere nuovi posti e nuova gente. Ed ovviamente vincere i campionati!
HT: Quando pensi di tornare a Milano?
RC: Per il momento no. Dovrò aspettare almeno fino a quando nostra figlia più piccola, che ora ha sei mesi, sarà grande abbastanza per poter viaggiare.

Hockeytime: Where do you live now and what’s your all-days activity?
Rob Cowie: Scottsdale Arizona – I am a full time realtor selling and building homes in Phoenix area. I am also a NHL Scout for the NY Islanders, scouting the NHL games in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Jose and Dallas.
HT: You have been spending two seasons with Team Milano Vipers winning two league titles, are there any pleasant facts that you remeber, both on and off the ice?
RC: Being able to finish my career with my friend Jason Muzzatti, who I started playing with in High School, when we were 17 years old.
HT: Do you have some funny anectodes to tell us?
RC: My daughter was born at Clinic Buzzi in Milano on Sept 29th at 11:59 p.m. My wife and I were watching the NFL football game and we were enjoying it so much that she wanted to wait until halftime. Our baby was almost born in our apartment on Via Lorenteggio because we were watching football.
HT: Do you still follow the Italian hockey league?
RC: Yes all the time through the internet
HT: Strazzabosco has been sent to the AHL, do you think he will get to play a good season?
RC: It will be hard for him at first, but if he adjusts to the rougher style in the smaller rink, he’ll be OK.
HT: Which is the best thing that you remember regarding your hockey career?
RC: Being able to see the world, different cultures and languages, and learn about other people and places. And also WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS!
HT: When you will came back at Milan?
RC: Not for a while! I will have to wait until our youngest daughter (6 months old) is old enough to travel. BUT WE WILL BE BACK!!!
